Mortgage arrears and repossession risk
Behind on your mortgage
If arrears are building up, a quick sale can clear the mortgage before the lender takes the property back.
Talk to your lender first and get free debt advice (MoneyHelper, StepChange and Citizens Advice are good starting points). Lenders have to consider alternatives, and sometimes a payment plan is the better answer.
If selling is the right move, timing matters. A repossessed home is usually sold at auction, and the costs come out of whatever equity you have left. Selling to us means you control the date, the mortgage is redeemed on completion, and any balance is paid to you. We will tell you plainly if our offer would not clear what you owe.
How we can help
- Completion timed around the lender's deadlines
